Is registration required in order to use the EMR Comparison Engine or view the Satisfaction Ratings?
Is there a fee to use CanadianEMR to search EMR systems or participate in discussions on the CanadianEMR Blog?
No, fees are not charged for use of the CanadianEMR site or comparison tools. Revenue is generated through sponsorship and fees that are charged to EMR vendors that create a vendor profile on CanadianEMR.
I am a physician. How can I rate the EMR system that I am using?
How do the Satisfaction Ratings work?
All physicians who are users of EMR systems in Canada are entitled to rate their EMR. The CanadianEMR Satisfaction Rating system is comprised of five high level categories: Purchase Experience, Implementation Experience, Support Experience, Usability, and Satisfaction with the product. Each of the high level categories is made up of three questions, which are answered according to a 1-5 star rating system by selecting a radio button for each question. Each set of three questions has a common set of reference criteria to assist with decision making. Once a physician has rated their EMR product, the information is anonymized and the aggregated information is presented in the EMR comparison tables as a star rating from one to five stars in each category. It is then possible to drill deeper and view the aggregated EMR rating information for each of the 15 questions on each product. Once registered as an EMR Rating physician, it takes just a few minutes to rate your EMR. In order to create a dynamic database of information on EMR ratings, physicians who contribute their ratings will be asked once every three months to update their EMR rating. This is extremely useful to physicians contemplating the purchase of an EMR system or currently using an EMR and considering a change, as the Star Ratings reflect the actual performance of that company in all major categories.
